East Side Pride's Harvey Milk Service Day at AARF

In honor of Harvey Milk Day, and Harvey Milk's life and vision of community service, East Side Pride has organized Harvey Milk Service Day at Atlanta Animal Rescue Friends in Stone Mountain.

AARF started in 2002 as a pet rescue and adoption network with just a few foster homes for abandoned, abused, and homeless pets. AARF has grown over the years, and just recently acquired a permanent home in Stone Mountain Village. The soon-to-be-open 4,000 square foot facility will house homeless pets waiting for adoption, a pet supply retail store, a grooming center, dog-wash tubs, dog training classes, and various other pet resources.

East Side Pride will be joining the folks at AARF, on Sunday, May 22nd, from 10am 'til about 3pm, to help them put the finishing touches on the facility! There will be lots to do, with jobs available for all skill levels...light carpentry, cleaning, organizing, etc.

Everyone is invited to come volunteer. There will be refreshments, and a door prize drawing.

So, come on out! Invest in your community. Meet some new people. Celebrate Harvey Milk Day. Help out homeless pets. Make new friends. And HAVE FUN!
